| About Me | | Teacher of Technology in a Special School for children with Behavioural Difficulties, in Preston, North of England.
Been interested in magic since school days (long, very long, time ago!). Read RRTCM in school library, and been practicing, on and off, ever since. Over the last two or three years have become quite passionate about magic again.
I'm not a performer as such. Just do stuff for family and friends, and occasionally in school. So would not claim to be a 'magician', more a 'magic lover'. I do take it very seriously though, I won't do a trick until I'm confident I can do it justice.
I mostly do card tricks (I love cards), but am keen to learn a handful of other close up ticks, just to give it a bit if variety (would welcome suggestions).
I love watching other magicians perform. I especially like close up/table magic. Not so keen on the big stage illusions.
I hate people who spoil magic tricks, whether deliberately (why do some people get a kick out of ruining a trick for everyone else?), by poor performance (if you can't do it well... don't do it!) or by revealing secrets (e.g. kiddies on YouTube etc. showing they know how a trick is done, with no attempt at performance).
On a more positive note, I am greatly heartened by the number of young people who put videos of their, sometimes awesome, performances on sites like this one.
The craft of the magician is alive and well, and long may it continue!
